Today, we are going to discuss about the impact of Google AdSense on your posts and pages.
So, the idea of this topic actually belongs to a few individuals on Wealthy Affiliate that asked about this in particular. I got hooked by the question and I decided to share the conclusion with you as well!
For those of you that don’t know what Google AdSense is, in a few words, the Google Adsense represents those ads that you might see on a lot of websites. Technically, the ads can be from a lot of sources, but the most common are those from Google Adsense.
So what does an ad actually do? Well, have you ever saw that message that tells you that this website collects cookies and other stuff?
Google AdSense, checks on what websites you usually go and if the owners of those websites promote their website through Google Adwords, you will see their ads on other websites that have Google Adsense enabled.
In theory, any link that takes the people away from your site will make your post or page rank lower than other posts that don’t have any external links.
So, what happens if you use those ads that send people to other websites?
Well, it seems that by adding Google AdSense to your website, it will improve your ranking.
However, there is a catch. You need to have just one or two ads showing on a page or a post of your website. Anything more than that will make your post rank lower.
It is not a determining factor. For example, I have lots of posts that are on rank #1 in Google and they don’t have any ads on them.
I can’t answer if other search engines will boost your rank due to Google Adsense, but I intend to decline since the other search engines offer the same service.
In general, you should aim to have around 3-4 external links for a 1500 words post or page.
